About the event
Join us at our new location in Edmond for a FREE CEU on 3/1. Tyler Copeland, LPC-S will be presenting on the identification and treatment of the harmful effects of religious trauma and religious abuse. Many of us a clinicians have encountered problematic effects of what may be identified as religious trauma or abuse. Often clients and clinicians are unaware of what religious abuse is or how to recognize the effects of trauma that either stem from this abuse or problematic religious beliefs. In this presentation Tyler will provide a historical and psychological analyses of the coercive religious beliefs and practices that can cause harm to clients. The goal will be to be able to better identify and assess for the effects of religious trauma while also providing a spritually integrative approach that can provide an ethical and healing therapeutic environment for clients to explore these issues. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
