Trust the journey; it’s the process that heals.

Niki is an Integrative and Functional Nutritionist

My transformation began 14 years ago when I found myself uncomfortable in my own skin, unsure where or how to start. Exhausted in my late 20s, I weighed over 200 pounds after the birth of my son and spent eight years on a yo-yo diet cycle. Even though I used phentermine in 2006, once I stopped, I regained the weight and then some. By the time I had my daughter, my weight had climbed to 220 pounds, and I hit a low point, crying in my closet because nothing fit. I felt like I had lost myself, and I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror. It was then I realized I needed to change, not just for me, but for my family. I was pre-diabetic and struggling just to keep up. The journey wasn’t easy. I had to learn to love and take care of myself again. I started with small steps: joining a gym, counting calories, and making healthier food swaps. Over time, my passion grew, and I pushed myself to compete in fitness, eventually earning first place in a figure competition. However, even then, I battled a poor relationship with food, often feeling guilt and shame around eating. Years later, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. Despite looking healthy on the outside, I struggled with joint pain, swelling, and digestive issues. This led me to functional nutrition, where I learned that food is not just about weight loss—it’s about fueling our lives. Healing my relationship with food and myself has been the most challenging, yet rewarding, journey of all. My mother had crippling arthritis and passed away in 2015 from a stroke. Watching her struggle with daily tasks, even turning a doorknob, has driven my mission as a functional nutritionist. I want to help others break free from the health issues that hold them back, find solutions, and take positive steps forward. I would love to be your coach, your cheerleader, and a tool in your wellness journey. Together, we can make choices that nurture our bodies. We only have one vessel—how we care for it is up to us.
